Q&A with Shandy Asturias, Mission Manager

Q:What excites you the most about working at a company like Apex?
Missions to space should not be rare, infrequent, complicated, long lead and bureaucratic. I’m excited to work at Apex and help to transform access to space so that it’s standardize, accessible, fast, and affordable.
Q: Why are you excited about space?
I’m excited about space because of the known, and even more importantly, the unknown ways it can benefit life on Earth. We are still in the early stages of exploring space, and the full potential of what it can enable is only just beginning to be imagined.
Q: You are somewhat new here at Apex. What has surprised you the most so far?
I love the mixture of impactful work in a fun office environment. In such a small group, every person matters.
Q:Tell us a bit about what you do in your free time.
I have two young kids, so I love traveling and exploring new places. I enjoy reading a good book, hiking, and SCUBA diving. I just tried stand-up paddle boarding for the first time and really want to do that more often.
