Q&A with Amanda Mosinski, AI&T Technician III

Written by:

Meet Amanda Mosinski, AI&T Technician III at Apex!

Amanda brings over a decade of hands-on manufacturing experience to Apex. She kicked off her career machining V8 and V6 Turbo engines at Toyota Motor Manufacturing before making the leap into aerospace at Blue Origin. She began her time at Blue Origin running vibe testing, thermal and cryogenic testing, and proof/flow testing, then moved into final assembly and integration for the BE-4 rocket engines, where she supported hot fire testing at MSFC 4670. When she stumbled on an opportunity at Apex, she couldn’t turn it down, driving 2,000 miles from Alabama to California to join the team.

Today, Amanda works as an Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) Technician supporting bus builds from base deck to finished, flight-ready spacecraft. Technicians like Amanda are the backbone of Apex’s mass-manufacturing strategy, executing the mechanical assembly, integration, and testing that transforms components into complete satellite platforms. Their work on the line is what ensures Apex hits rate, meets customer demand, and delivers mission success in orbit.

Q: What excites you the most about working at a company like Apex?

I love that we all have the same drive, no shortage of passion for what we’re doing. No matter how much Apex grows we still feel like one big family. Everyone has the same end goal of making this place the best it can be. It’s fun to think of the innovation that is Apex to begin with. Streamlining satellites but tailoring each to customer needs within a much faster pace than anyone else out there makes every day exciting. I love that we come together as a team to really tackle challenges. I truly believe we will become the best & most reliable satellite company in the world. I’m a little over a year in & I still am excited to come to work every day.

Q: Why are you excited about space?

As corny as it is to say, it is the ultimate frontier. Some of the harshest, most challenging conditions, so little room for error, still so massively unexplored. I love to think that the work I’m contributing to now is going to pave the way for the next generation coming into the industry to further space innovation. You gain a different sense of love for space when you fly your first asset (from rockets to engines to satellites) to space and watch it succeed.

Q: What’s something you learned in your most recent role that you’re bringing to Apex?

One of the biggest things I learned at Blue Origin was how important cross-functional collaboration is. Final assembly required constant coordination with engineering, quality, and other technicians to resolve issues quickly while keeping production moving. At Apex, I'm bringing that collaborative mindset along with a willingness to learn, ask questions, and support the company wherever I'm needed.

Q: How do you see the role of Technician at Apex, and how is it supporting the mass-manufacturing of Apex’s satellite platforms?

I think technicians are one of the most important parts of Apex's success because we're the people who transform engineering designs into flight-ready spacecraft. Every assembly, integration process, inspection, and functional test directly impacts whether a satellite will perform successfully once it's in orbit. Technicians are the last line of defense for quality and reliability. Our work directly affects quality, schedule, and production rate.

Q: What has surprised or impressed you the most so far during your time at Apex?

There’s no departmental divide. It feels like we’re one cohesive unit company-wide. The vision and goals are clear. Management has been phenomenal with clarity and communication. They’re often in the weeds with us throughout the process too. It’s a nice change of pace to see a true team effort from top to bottom.

Q: Tell us a bit about what you do in your free time.

You’ll catch me spending 90% of my free time hanging with my dogs! I love going to the dog park and dog beaches with them. I want them to have the best life. The other 10% you’ll catch me on Steam playing co-op games with friends or in Hollywood hanging with friends or at an event/premiere.
