Q&A with Joshua Najmi, Spacecraft HITL Engineer

Written by:

Q: What excites you the most about working at a company like Apex?

A: The adventure of creating satellites for the advancement of technology both on earth and in space is what excites me the most. Apex is on the forefront of developing a manufacturing process that could solve an age old industry problem and I want to be part of that.

Q: Why are you excited about space?

A: I have always been fascinated with the vastness of space and the unknowns about it. Humans have been guided by astronomical phenomenons and influenced by celestial objects since consciousness and language had been discovered. This fact is what drives my deep sense of interest and love for space exploration and development. I hope to live in a future where space travel and interplanetary transportation is easier and more accessible.

Q: You are somewhat new here at Apex. What has surprised you the most so far?

A: I actually started at Apex about a year ago. I have been surprised as to the exceptional performance and resilience of the Apex team. Those that work here do not just excel at what they do professionally, but make it a fun and exciting place to come into everyday. The strength of both the team solidarity with the intellectual curiosity and excellence makes it possible for such a small team to meet such ambitious goals.

Q: Tell us a bit about what you do in your free time.

A: I love to learn. I am constantly learning to develop my skills in anything and to be able to teach or benefit those that I am around. My main interests are within experimental gravity research, music production/sound design, and surfing. If I am not winning the Nobel prize for the first lab grown black hole by the time I am 40, then you can probably catch me headlining Coachella or I was successful in my research and got spaghettified before I could tell anyone.
