Q&A with Jimmy Downs, Senior Avionics Engineer

Q: What excites you the most about working at a company like Apex?
A: Culture and agile mentality. Apex attracts individuals that are so motivated to learn and learn by doing. It makes this place so much fun to work at and so hands on. This is a place which attracts individuals that look at problems as opportunities. Everyone is concerned with the why, and one of my mentors always instilled in me how fundamental that is to success.
Q: Why are you excited about space?
A: I truly believe that if we are to grow as a species, we must find ways to utilize space.
Q: You are somewhat new here at Apex. What has surprised you the most so far?
A: Honestly, it is pretty much what I expected. What I always look for is an environment that enhances your capabilities. So, looks like this was a good choice, I am surprised how right I was!
Q: Tell us a bit about what you do in your free time.
A: I enjoy spending time with family and friends, I love to get outside and ride my road or mountain bike (preferred), hike, run, jump, play in the grass, etc. I also love watching sports, Cowboys,Arsenal, some tennis is always fun.
