Written by:

Meet Conner King, Lead Technician at Apex!

Conner brings over five years of space technician experience from SpaceX and Relativity Space, following his formal education in welding and fabrication at The Fab School. Conner first joined Apex as a Technician over a year ago before being promoted to Lead Technician at the end of last year.

As one of Apex’s Lead Technicians, Conner manages a team of production technicians focused on the rapid assembly, integration, and testing of customer buses right here in Los Angeles. Conner and the technician teams are the front line of Apex’s mass-manufacturing strategy, putting in the work every day to keep Apex’s production line running smoothly.

Learn more about Conner below:

Q: What excites you the most about working at a company like Apex?

The culture and talent here at Apex are unmatched, with an abundance of opportunities for professional growth that I haven’t experienced anywhere else in my career.

Q: Why are you excited about space?

Spacecraft are some of the most state-of-the-art products to build; the challenges and advancements that come with that always excite me.

Q: What’s something you learned in your most recent role that you’re bringing to Apex?

The ability to manage my time and workflow here as leadership between R&D, production, technician training, and personal relations.

Q: How do you see the role of Lead TECHNICIAN at Apex, and how is it supporting the mass-manufacturing of Apex’s satellite platforms?

The opportunity to work with highly qualified colleagues and create a productive and gratifying work environment is what I strive for. I also love teaching new skills/processes to my colleagues as well, and learning from them in the process.

Q: What has surprised or impressed you the most so far during your time at Apex?

I feel like the speed at which we’ve progressed as a company just over the past year of my employment is incredible. All while not losing the tight-knit and supportive culture that Apex has worked to curate since its founding.

Q: Tell us a bit about what you do in your free time.

In my free time, you can find me in the garage working on my project car, solving an escape room with friends, or enjoying a game of Counter-Strike.
