This week we posted straightforward, transparent pricing on our website. Check it out here: https://www.apexspace.com/order-now
Why are we putting our prices online?
First, because Apex is building a standard product, and we believe standard products should have standard, transparent pricing. Our customers can go to our website, see what they can buy, see when it can be delivered, and see exactly how much it will cost. We believe this kind of transparency is overdue in the small satellite industry.
Second, because there is a lot of room for improvement in the satellite buying process today. It’s common in our industry to have to go through multiple back-and-forths with salespeople and wait weeks (or even months) for a price. That is not an easy buying experience and it is certainly not fast.
Are we taking a risk?
Many bus providers in our industry claim to have standard products, but the pricing is rarely standard. We’re going to miss out on a few tried and true practices:
- Pricing based on how much money a customer has or how much the vendor thinks the customer is used to paying
- Starting with a deceptively low price that ends up growing between contract signature and final delivery
We aren’t doing those things. Will we be leaving money on the table sometimes? Sure. We believe fair, transparent pricing is the better business decision.
