Q: What excites you the most about working at a company like Apex?

We’re a space startup with ambitious goals and technically challenging projects. We move extremely fast to make them a reality. We’ve already set a record for being the fastest organization to engineer and produce a vehicle in our sizeclass. There are very few more exciting places to be.

Q: Why are you excited about space?

Most people quote SpaceX (make life multi-planetary!) or Blue Origin (it’s all for the benefit of Earth!) when they explain why they want to work in the space industry. Those are logical arguments, but I believe that most people are primarily driven by their emotions towards space, including feelings of awe, a desire for adventure, and inspiration. This is true for me, and there’s no other industry I’d rather dedicate my life to.

Q: You are somewhat new here at Apex. What has surprised you the most so far?

I’ve been surprised by how much Apex and its people are focused on making the vision for the company come true. We’re not swayed by business deals and wild technical projects that don’t align with our long-term vision. It’s awesome being surrounding by dreamers who are level-headed enough to ignore distractions and charge full speed ahead towards our goals.

Q: Tell us a bit about what you do in your free time.

I social partner dance and compete in competitions. Southern California is one of the best places in the world to do this. It’s to my absolute benefit that LA is at the heart of both social dancing and the space industry.
